Which lodges welcome dogs?
All five lodges welcome dogs, for £30 per dog. Please mention your dog when you book so everything is ready.
Walks your dog will love
The open moorland of the Black Mountain is a dream for dogs who love to explore, although sheep and wild ponies graze freely, so keep dogs on a lead near livestock. The track up to Llyn y Fan Fach is steady and well defined, with water along the way. For something shorter, the lanes and fields around Garnant are perfect for a morning stroll before breakfast.
Dog friendly days out
The grounds of Carreg Cennen Castle and the parkland at Dinefwr near Llandeilo are lovely places to walk with a dog on a lead. Many of the cafés and pubs in Llandeilo are happy to welcome well behaved dogs too. It is always worth calling ahead.
Top tips
- Bring a towel for muddy paws and your dog’s own bed or blanket.
- Keep dogs on a lead around sheep, ponies and ground nesting birds, especially in spring.
- Carry water on longer hill walks.
- Never leave dogs alone in the lodge.
